Nicholas is the Chairman of Sterling Insurance Group Limited. He has worked in the insurance industry for 40 years, having qualified as a chartered accountant whilst working for city accountants from 1968 to 1972.

From 1972 to 1976, he worked for Norman Reitman, specialist insurance accountants based in New York and London. He founded and was the Chief Executive Officer of Consolidated Insurance Group Limited in 1976, as part of the Beneficial Corporation. Consolidated Insurance Group Limited was purchased by GE in 1994.

Nicholas set up Sterling Insurance Group Limited in 1994 as a start up company. He has built a business managing and underwriting premiums circa £200m, with an excellent track record of delivering a quality service to Sterling's clients and achieving significant new business wins.

Nicholas has a deep interest in the arts, holding directorships at both RADA and The Old Vic Theatre.
